Building young people’s confidence in education and their future

Black Country Wheels is an independent and specialist provider of alternative education, welcoming young people who have become disengaged from mainstream learning.

Whether a student is full-time or part-time, Black Country Wheels School aims to get them ‘back on track’, renewing their passion for learning and for life. Students are taught in small groups; a typical group size is six pupils with a member of staff supporting their individual needs.

Students at Black Country Wheels School are in Year 10 and 11 and lessons are not restricted to those found in mainstream schools. Students have the opportunity to achieve Level 1 qualifications in vocational courses such as Motor Vehicle, Construction and Art and Design, to completing a range of ASDAN qualifications. As well as enjoying extra-curricular activities, such as joining in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, playing in the school’s football team, working out in the gym, there is plenty to get young people motivated.
